So I was watching the World Baseball Classic final a couple of months ago ~ Japan vs Korea ... I like good baseball and had no favorites, but I recognized a few of the Japanese players because they were also in MLB. But holy hell ~ that was one good game ... I think easily one of the most exciting games I've seen in some time ... the deep seeded rivalry of these two teams also added to the drama ...
I had Ichiro, with the game winning hit in my mind for weeks after the final was done. Finally I decided to start sketching something out. The samurai swords at his hip is more of a wink to the slogan used by the Japanese fans "Samurai Japan" which I'm not sure if it exactly means anything - maybe they just thought the idea of samurai was a concept the world can grasp ... |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on.
